The book gives a different view of times of peace and war. Careful analysis of the data is done and trends from one war to the other are found. Findings like Democracies never fight each other help to better understand the world we live in. Not only that it helps us to understand how other wars can be prevented.

A Good Introduction to Scientific Study !

This book is very interesting. It is very comprehensive in its organization, especially for those who are interested in scientific study of peace and war. This book consists of several articles from many famous peace researchers, and the best part is both the editors put some comments, classified into findings and methodological description, even explanation of the articles presented. All in all, I would recommend this book for all students of IR who are interested in quantitative IR.
